Twenty-one students and their three teachers of Government Day Junior Secondary School, Misau, Bauchi State, on Tuesday, were involved in an auto crash which claimed their lives. As gathered, the students and their teachers were returning from an excursion trip on Tuesday when their bus collided head-on with a trailer vehicle along Kano to Gaya road in Kano state, resulting in the death of 11 male and 10 female students, as well as their teachers. Meanwhile, funeral prayer for the students and their teachers, who died in the ghastly automobile accident, was held in Misau, amidst sobs by parents and relations. Heavy protest was sparked earlier today after a policeman killed a driver over N100 in Benin, Edo State. According to reports, the incident happened, this morning, along M.M. Way, Benin. It was gathered that the police officer pushed the driver into the path of an oncoming trailer which smashed his head. According to the deceased fiancée, troubled started over the refusal of her fiancé to give the said policeman, N100, after their bus was stopped. She all their pleas was refused by the policeman. . An angry mob on Thursday burned three trucks at Agbede along the Benin-Auchi-Abuja expressway after one of the trucks accidentally hit some persons along the road. It was gathered that the truck had a brake failure and rammed into several persons standing by the roadside. The mob blocked the highway and caused heavy vehicular traffic that lasted hours. Eyewitnesses said four persons died and eight others were seriously injured in the accident. Our correspondent gathered that the mob’s action prevented officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other security agents from carrying out rescue operations at the scene of the accident. But Edo State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Samuel Odukoya, said that only person died in the accident.
